Meet Robert E. Strand
Robert E. Strand is a New York-based actor, writer, filmmaker, brand strategist, and nonprofit founder whose career has been shaped by one central belief: stories have the power to move people from awareness to action.
Formally trained in the Meisner technique since 2007, Robert has appeared in television, film, commercials, and stage productions. His on-screen and theatrical work draws upon more than three decades of experience in business, branding, and leadership, bringing authenticity and depth to roles ranging from executives and attorneys to physicians, diplomats, and the occasional pun-loving dad. A fluent French speaker, accomplished stand-up comic, and competitive pun champion performing under the name Kenny DeWitt, Robert brings both gravitas and humor to his creative work.
Before pursuing filmmaking and acting full time, Robert built an internationally recognized career in branding, licensing, and intellectual property. His work included leadership roles within the sports and entertainment industries, including the NBA, where he collaborated with global licensing and marketing teams to develop consumer engagement programs and strategic partnerships.
In 2022, Robert combined his professional expertise with his passion for environmental advocacy by founding the World Water Film Festival. The nonprofit organization uses film and storytelling to explore humanity's relationship with water and to inspire action around issues including water quality, access, conservation, and environmental justice. Under his leadership, the festival has grown into a global platform connecting filmmakers, educators, scientists, policymakers, and community leaders across multiple continents.
Across his work in entertainment, advocacy, and philanthropy, Robert is driven by a belief that great stories can transform information into understanding and understanding into meaningful change.
